Business |
1. Relay for Life was discussed. This
Friday, May 29, 2009 is the Relay in Westminster. A sign up
sheet for being on the track for 12 hours - 7:00pm to 7:00am was passed around. Stacy
will be at the event early in the day setting up and will stay all night, as will Lisa.
All members must wear either a Hawaiian grass skirt (with comfortable top) or Hawaiian print shirt (with comfortable
pants/jeans). There will be a raffle for a Clemson basket of goodies. The tickets will be $1.00 or 6 for $5.00 that we will sell at the event.
Stacy will provide the tickets to be sold. Gail gave Stacy Leis to hand
out to members. |
Bring your own chair and money to support surrounding booths with food, etc.
Dress Drew pretty for the Womanless Beauty Pageant at 10:00pm.
Drawing for Clemson basket at 11:00pm.
Thank you Megan for donating to the basket! |

2. Lap quilts were discussed. We will
be taking them to the Hospice House in Seneca for our next meeting. Then out
to dinner afterwards. We will meet at 6:00pm at the Hospice House pending Stacy
contacting them. |

3. Continue to collect tabs and magazines! |

4. The Survivors Dinner was a huge success!
We served 120 people. Stacy chaired the event and 8 members helped put
on the event. A total of 72 hours was volunteered by all. Donations came to a total of $400.00 which came out to be $3.17 per person for the dinner. |
Thank you Stacy for all your long hard hours of work and making it a success! Gail, is there a cost for the facility to add to our donation? |
|
5. Convention went great! Julia represented
our Women’s group and her husband went too! Great speakers this year and not so long and drawn out. We won a few awards: North Western District – 1st
place for attendance and 2nd for rating sheets. Focus on Health- Cancer
Certificate and Breast Cancer Awareness Certificate. AMC Cancer Society Certificate. Fun was had by all! A Trash to Treasure
Pageant was held and Sandy King won for the recycled dress she wore made out of Capri Sun
pouches with a purse no less! It was mentioned in memory of Lisa Smith, owner
of Heart Warmers, passed away this year. Next year’s Convention will be
held in Columbia at the end of April 2010. |

TO DO List |
PERSON OF THE MONTH was tabled. We need to think of if we want to
continue it or do something similar to it. |
Everyone continue to collect tabs! They will be gathered eventually. J
Bring magazines you are finished with to the next meeting, and Stacy will bring labels
to affix. |
If members have things such as diapers, wipes, clothes up to size
3T, and maternity clothes they can be collected at any meeting and donated to Foothills
Pregnancy Care Center.
Think about the coffee fundraiser, and contact another club about
splitting a case of coffee to be within our budget. |
Reminder: Bring your own drink
to each of the next meetings. |
